In order to obtain water/sewer services you will first need to determine what type of service you will need. An “Existing Connection” is a location where there is already a meter box present on the property. These are typically in established subdivisions or in other locations where someone has previously resided. A “New Connection” is a location where there is currently no meter box. New Connections are typically found in new subdivisions or in rural areas where the property has never been served with water before.
If you need service for an “Existing Connection” you will simply pay an $80.00 deposit and a $30.00 set-up fee. You will need to be prepared to provide your driver’s license or a photo ID. You will also need to provide the correct “911” address and billing address for the location.
If you need service for a “New Connection” we will first need to determine if water/sewer service is available in the desired location. Once we have determined that service is available, you will need to provide the following:
- Connection Fees – Pay the connection fees. The Connection Fees are based on size and type of service. See the “Connection Fees” link below determine the total fees.
- Photo ID – Bring a photo ID when setting up your new connection.
- “Perc” Test – For property less than 10 acres a copy of your percolation “perc” test is required. For property larger than 10 acres, a letter of assurance from the White County Health Department is required.
- Addressing – Please be prepared to provide the correct “911” address and billing address. If you do not know this address please check with the City Code Enforcement Office or the County 911 office.
